Village Primary & Infant School is a distinguished co-educational institution nestled in the heart of Faiths Pen, St. Ann, serving students from infancy through primary levels since 1962. Originally known as White House School, our institution has a remarkable story of resilience and community partnership that began when Hurricane Janet devastated our original location in 1951. Through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Education and Alcan Jamaica Company (now Windalco), our school found its permanent home on the main Kingston-Ewarton thoroughfare, where we officially opened our doors during Jamaica's historic first Independence celebrations in 1962.
Our multigrade approach to education reflects our commitment to personalized learning, ensuring that every child receives the attention and support they deserve. We take immense pride in our legacy of excellence across multiple disciplines, consistently achieving outstanding results in JCDC Festival Competitions, 4H Achievement Competitions, District Association Sports, and spelling competitions. These achievements reflect not only our students' talents but also our dedicated approach to holistic development.
At Village Primary & Infant School, education extends far beyond the classroom through our diverse range of extra-curricular activities including Cub Scouts, 4H Club, Hype Club, Culture Club, and Environment Club. Our passionate and committed staff members create a safe, nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported. Under the leadership of Principal Janice Nelson and our dedicated Board of Management, we continue to uphold our founding principle that no child should be left behind, ensuring that each student receives the guidance and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.
As we look toward the future, Village Primary & Infant School remains steadfast in our commitment to excellence, community partnership, and the holistic development of Jamaica's future leaders. Our rich history, combined with our forward-thinking approach to education, positions us as a cornerstone institution in the St. Ann educational landscape.
